Herbed Toast

I got this recipe from a man that I sat next to on a flight to New Orleans in 2004. I was supposed to be flying with my research supervisor but I missed the boarding call going through security and missed my flight. They put me on the next flight out and I ended up next to a man that worked for a catering company. We sat and shared recipes the entire time, it was fun.

It's simple and super tasty.

  • Loaf of Italian or French bread, sliced
  • Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Italian Herb Blend, I use the Tuscan Herb Blend if I can find it
Step one:

Set your broiler to Low. Lay out the bread slices on a baking sheet lined with foil.

Step 2:

Drizzle each slice with some olive oil then sprinkle with the salt and herb blend.

Step 3:

Broil until each piece is crisp. You can turn them over to toast (and season) both sides if you want

For this batch I used a loaf of the Garlic Foccacia from Kroger.
