Breakfast of Champions

A recent addition to my heating habits has turned into one of my favorite things to eat. Fage Greek Strained Yogurt, wild blueberries, and crushed Nature Valley Oat & Honey granola. I do have to admit that it's an acquired taste and that the first time I ate it I very quickly decided it would never enter my mouth again. After I finished my first bowl and destroyed any visible evidence of it's existence I found myself wanting more. It was gross, but tasty.

The Greek yogurt has a taste similar to sour cream. That was my initial put off. You just don't mix blueberries and granola into sour cream. It tastes horrible! But there is some slight difference in the Greek yogurt that makes it palatable with the sweetness of the blueberries. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's there.

The mixture itself doesn't look very appealing either. When it's properly stirred it looks like a glob of partially dried plaster with blueberries mixed in. Which to me is NOT appealing.

The texture in my mouth is what, I think, makes it so satisfying. Each bite has a little bit of creamy, a little bit of crunchy, and random juicy flavor explosions. I think it's a perfect example of Umami, one of my favorite tastes to recreate.

I use 1/2 cup Fage 0% Greek strained yogurt, 1/2 package of Nature Valley Crunchy Oat & Honey bars, and about a cup of wild blueberries which has a total of 240 calories.

Here is a picture of an early version of this yummy concoction.

Update:
Here is a current picture of this concoction. It looks tastiest before I stir it up.
