We stopped at the Seoul Garden on Edmondson Pike in Nashville. It's in a little shopping center right off Nolensville Rd south of Harding Pl.
You have the option of sitting at a grill table or a regular table. We chose a grill table. The grill tables seat six, three on each side, and have a hole cut out of the center where a 10" or so metal bowl is attached to hang below the table. There is an insulated box surrounding the bowl attached to the underside of the table.
We ordered the beef and chicken bulgogi which involved cooking our food on our table. This was by far the best experience in any restaurant I've ever had.
Shortly after we ordered our waitress came back carrying a wooden tray of marinated meat.
The waitress was followed by a little old Korean man carrying a small iron cauldron with a ladle in it. The waitress set down a trivet and placed a secondary bowl into the center of our table. The little old man scooped some hot coals out of his cauldron and into the center of our table. Our waitress put a grill cover on top of the coals, the man took his cauldron, and they both went back to the kitchen.
I could kick myself for not getting pictures of all this. It was SO COOL!!!
After a few minutes our waitress brought our sides and put the meat on the grill.
The Kimchi was really good, it was crisp and flavorful without being too spicy.
The tofu was amazing. The sauce was made with chili paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions.
The other sides were also super tasty but in no way compared to the tofu.
Daikon Radish
Salted Egg
Bean Sprouts
Potatoes
When the meats were ready to be eaten, we wrapped it up in a lettuce leaf with sticky rice.
(Alice staged her's a little. Notice the daikon balanced precariously on the beef?)
Overall, I liked it a lot. Alice said it was good too.
